About Us

At Fortify Christian Counseling, LLC no person is looked at as the problem, instead the problems presented during counseling are viewed as external to the individual, and as problematic symptoms of what is taking place within the larger system. With this in mind, the unique focus on the inner self during counseling incorporates a biblical worldview of wholeness, empirically supported clinical tools and evidence based interventions. Counseling is much more than simply sitting on a sofa and talking, it is an all-encompassing battle for the heart, the mind and the soul of each individual.

FORTIFY consists of licensed professionals, pastoral counselors, board certified Christian counselors, and certified biblical counselors who possess the necessary qualifications to provide counseling focused on Christ, grounded in the teachings of the Bible, and supported by clinical knowledge.

Fortify operates independently of any particular church or denomination and has its main offices in a stand-alone building in Hoover, Alabama. As the organization expands, new offices are opened in locations where suitable space is provided by God. Clients are not obligated to be associated with any specific church or religious belief to enter into a counselor-client relationship with us. We are here to serve you to the glory of God!

What We Believe

Our beliefs are best described as evangelical protestant, but our clients do not have to be a Christian to seek our services. They need to be aware, however, that our approach to counseling is driven by some widely held biblical beliefs, including:

  • We believe the Bible is "inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what  is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right" (2 Tim 3:16-17, NTL).
  • We believe in the Triune nature of the God as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19-20).
  • We believe humans were created in the image of God (Gen 1:26-28), that His image was shattered by our sin (Rom 5:12-14) and can only be restored as we become more like Christ (Rom 5:15-17, 8:29).
  • We believe salvation is by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ who died for our sins and rose again, providing eternal redemption to those who believe (Eph 2:8-9).
