Missed Appointments

For your convenience, appointment reminders are sent to you via text or email at the time of scheduling and again 72 hours before the appointment. We kindly request that you honor our commitment to you by providing a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This is necessary because a time commitment is made and held exclusively for you. Sometimes, the counselor can reschedule you for a different day or time within the same week as your originally scheduled session and you can avoid paying a late or missed session fee.

If you must cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, you will still be responsible for paying the full fee for the missed session.  Please be aware that if your insurer usually pays your fee and you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, you will still be required to pay the entire fee. Insurance companies do not cover missed sessions; therefore, the client is responsible for any late cancellation fees. For this reason, we kindly request that you keep a current debit or credit card on file with us, allowing us to promptly handle fees due (except for those fees that we have verified will be paid by your insurance provider).

Late Appointments

Counselors carefully plan their schedules to block out a specific 50-minute time slot for each client, plus 10 minutes to record notes. If you are late for an appointment, your session will still need to end at the regularly scheduled time.

Standard Meeting Time

The standard meeting time for psychotherapy is 50 minutes. If you feel you need more time than this, please notify your counselor in advance so that adjustments can be made to their schedule and fees to reflect the additional time.
