Brandon holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div) in Great Commission Studies from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and an Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. He is a licensed and ordained minister, has passed the National Counselor’s Exam (NCE), and has applied for Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) status in Alabama. Once his ALC license is approved, he will begin counseling under supervision and will also start accepting BCBS insurance.
Before joining Fortify Christian Counseling, Brandon served seven years as the primary pastor over college-aged students and young adults (20s-30s) at Valleydale Church in Birmingham, AL. During the years Brandon served as a college and young professionals pastor, he frequently provided pastoral counseling for premarrieds and marrieds, and helped individuals interpret and address ordinary and not-so-ordinary challenges through a biblical worldview.
Brandon is a Pastoral Counselor, having previously been affiliated with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) before adopting a counseling approach combining biblical principles with clinically informed methods. He is a certified facilitator for the PREPARE/ENRICH® assessment, which supports couples in marital and pre-marital counseling.
