Dr. Jerra Dooley is a pastoral counselor and life coach for women and premarital couples. She has served in ministry leadership for over 30 years, helping women heal, grow, and thrive in Christ. With deep compassion for those impacted by abuse, addiction, anxiety, and life transitions, she blends biblical wisdom with clinically informed tools to guide her clients toward freedom and purpose in Christ.
Jerra holds a doctorate in pastoral care and counseling from Liberty University, where she also serves as an adjunct professor and dissertation chair. She’s certified in trauma-informed mental health coaching (AACC), has been ACBC certified, uses Christian CBT, Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), and other empirically proven techniques. Dr. Jerra is also a licensed human behavior consultant with certification to administer and train others to use the Uniquely You DISC and Spiritual Gifts assessments. Couples will be interested in knowing that she is a certified facilitator for both the PREPARE/ENRICH® and SYMBIS premarital and marital growth assessments.
Dr. Jerra and her husband, Randy, have been married since 1993, enjoy a blended family of five grown children, four grandchildren, and five great-grands. They faithfully serve in their local church, where she also serves as pianist. Whether through counseling, coaching, or conferences, Jerra’s passion is to help others discover who they are in Christ—and live out God’s design for their lives!
Session Rate:
Dr. Jerra accepts new clients at $145 for a 50-minute biblical counseling/coaching session.
Insurance & Payment Information:
Payment is due at the time services are rendered. Insurance payments do not apply to non-licensed counseling services.
Licensed Minister, not a Licensed Mental Health Clinician:
Dr. Jerra is not a licensed mental health counselor, and does not provide mental health diagnoses or clinical treatment for mental health illnesses. She practices biblical counseling under the clergy exception provided in the Alabama Code § 34-8A-3. She does not represent herself as a licensed professional counselor and does not provide clinical mental health counseling or psychotherapy under this exemption.
